This large original oil painting is painted on natural fine-grained canvas stretched on a frame. To create a realistic stone texture, I used texture paste. The painting is inspired by my trip to the Holy Places of Israel and Palestine. It depicts the entrance to the Church of the Nativity, built on the birthplace of Jesus Christ. On the right you will see the touching images of Joseph leading the donkey, on which sits the pregnant Virgin Mary. This painting is a reflection of my personal impressions and a deep sense of reverence for this holy place. I was there myself, saw everything with my own eyes, and I wanted to convey on canvas all the beauty and spiritual meaning of this moment.
